June is for...

All kinds of things and kind things they are indeed!

First of all, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ldygwynedd for the very cool post card from Alaska! :)

I got a big surprise when I opened my e-mail and learned that [livejournal.com profile] ladybast has gifted me with paid time on my LJ! Thank you much, Suze! ::loves::

Yet another surprise from [livejournal.com profile] mummm. She made icons of the roses picture from my yard! You can see one here on this post!

I should have posted a link to this picture of Rhi by [livejournal.com profile] rachaelwynter. I remember being totally floored when I saw it! So floored that I remember sending friends to the page going.. lookitlookit!! Those that remember or know who Collie is will understand when I say Rhi is her daughter.

Thank you, ladies! :)

Bath and Body Works is having another step in their Big Semi-annual sale. $4 each or 6 for $20 body splash and 3 for shimmer lotion. Thinking about getting those things for Liz. Not sure. I usually send her BB&W goodies for her birthday. I'm learning to appreciate their website. Turns out the shipping for what all I would be buying in the store isn't all that much. 0-25 is $6 and 25.01 - 50 is 7. There is something about going into the store and poking about. Somehow, I only got one of these and three of the Sandalwood Rose last time about. I really need to remember the reading glasses when I'm in there.  I think, though, that I have plenty of B&BW stuff for now. Some of what I bought is going to be gifts.

As many of you already know, the younger of my two daughters, Liz, is planning her wedding for the end of October. They are having it here. So, I took advantage of the fact that Hobby Lobby had a 50% off sale on Bridal and Floral stems. I got just about everything on her list. Still need the plates and cake server set. This is pretty much a wedding on a shoestring, but that doesn't mean it won't be nice.

I got the following items to send her:
I Will Marry My Friend Unity Candle
Silver Unity Candle Set
Cups (125) and napkins (150) with a Wedding Bell design on them
Floral tape
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Sheer Wedding Favor Bags
Metal Wedding Rings
Celebration Bubbles
Boutonniere & Corsage pins
Toasting glasses
Basic Satin and Lace Garter
Bogdon's Dark Chocolate Reception Stick Candy 2 boxes
Boutonniere Boxes
Corsage Boxes

I was planning on buying Rose & Gypsophila Boutonniere in red and white as well as Rose & Ivy Ribbon Corsage in red and white, but the poor flowers in those were so squashed it isn't even funny. So... I was not about to let that stop me from delivering on what I said I would for Liz. I bought the flowers, tape, greenery, ribbon, etc. to make them. I'm not overly confident about making the corsages, but I brought one pre-made boutonniere home to see how it's put together. I don't know about putting the ribbon on them, though, we'll see.

I was going to drive up to the Hobby Lobby in Temple, but I think I'm going to give this shop a try. They always participate in the Project Graduation program and I've gotten a couple of neat things over there, so, what's the worst thing that happens? They tell me they don't have what I want. Best case scenario, I find what I want or they can order it. It'd save a lot of driving around, gas, and headaches.

I finished the Blackwood Farm audio book.

That's a fun thing, shopping for the wedding! That castle is HUGE! Does it have several separate halls inside, or will you have the whole thing to yourselves?

The artwork of Rhi is beautiful.

The chapel, banquet hall and patio are rented for the day. The reception room is cheaper, but has no patio access. Pictures are here, it's going to make for some beautiful wedding photos.

A Fall Wedding.
That sounds so perfect.
That's what I would want if I ever got married.

Fall should be great weather in GA, not boiling and not cold. Her colors are white and red.

I always worry about capturing the look the other person has in their mind of the character when I draw someone else's character. So, I'm glad you like the picture I drew that much. :)
