What Day Was It Again?

Um... yeah... Tuesday was not the best of days and what's already passed of Wednesday is not so hot either.
We got a late start on Tuesday to get a few things taken care of. Mostly it was normal things like dropping off bills in the mail. I really didn't want to go to the mall today, but in the end it might have been a good thing that we did. Dropped off the bills over at the post office, but I still have things to mail, but I'm going to send Tom with them when he goes out today. Also need stamps. We took the back way into the mall and as we did, we were passing one of the local computer stores. I got the fan for my case and will be installing it today.
Off to the mall. I picked up some candles. No, I didn't NEED them, but scented candles are an indulgence, we all have those. One of them brought back memories of an RP setting I haven't thought about in ages, Double Star Saloon. It's called "Cowboy," it smells like good saddle leather. Picked out two others. They did not have the scent squares in the Hallmark store nor did they have Archipelago Candles, but you can't have everything! I also found a cute little ornament to put in the box for Liz, reminds me of a gingerbread cookie girl. We debated on the snacks and this is where we might have used "just enough time." Tom treated for snacks; Auntie Anne's pretzel dippers are a nice light quick snack. Took the edge off my hunger so I wasn't starving when we got to the grocery store.
Game plan was to go to Target to look at some pants for Tom. We talked about heading to the market and bypassing Target, but it's a good thing we didn't. We got out of the mall parking lot and my stomach knotted. You know the kind of feeling, that something is just not right? Then we heard the sirens. If we had been up on the highway instead of having our snack, we would likely have been involved in an accident. From the look of things, even after about 30 minutes of wandering Target, it would have been ugly, very ugly. They blocked at least three highway entrance ramps. When we passed on the frontage road, several police cars were still on the highway.
In Target, Tom got some nice khakis and some shirts for when he starts his new job on Thursday. Training is from 7am-4pm then he begins the split shifts. I got a couple of small storage bins to put the floral supplies in. That stuff is probably going to keep me busy Thursday and Friday during the day. Also got a new laundry hamper. The frame on the old one has been broken again and again. This means it falls apart every time I take it to the laundry room. Gah... annoying, I tell you! This one has wheels, no more lifting to move it!
We did the grocery run and got some lovely NY strip steaks for dinner. Going to do a meat pie tonight.
Tom is excited and ready to get going on his new job. He got a taste of a paycheck again and likes it. Me? I'm going to be cooking more meals that hold well in the oven since the boys will both be getting home about the same time.
I think I know why Obama lost the TX primary. I got no less than twelve calls from his campaign people. Criminy! How disorganized is that bunch that they needed to call that much to tell me to go get out and vote and how he needed my help THAT MANY TIMES? There are three, count 'em, three registered voters in my home, so why did all the messages have my name on them? The end result was me being so fed up and so annoyed that I didn't go over to the courthouse to vote. I have to wonder how many other people were that fed up. And to top it off... they left literature hanging on the front door. There's giving information and then there's annoying the crap out of people with it.
Somewhere along the line, I managed to injure my thumb. There's what I thought was a bruised area at the joint between my thumb and my hand. I'm not so sure it's just bruised anymore, it's a hardened spot. Then again, I've had ant bites under the surface of my skin that felt that way. If it's gone or fading within a week, I'll see about a doctor's appointment.
Sometimes, no matter how much you enjoy a hobby, you should move to something else when your attention wanders or you feel out of place. Next time my brain gets too frazzled for RP, I think I might work on the construction projects featured on the Sims tutorials. At least if I screw that up I can bulldoze the lot. So far, I've learned how to make a basement and an underground garage.
I have one more thing to do then I'm hitting the sack. It's 7 AM, I better rest, I have a few things to get done today.
