For those that grew up with Johnny and June Carter Cash's music, you might like this. It's a tribute to them sung by Heidi Newfeld.

For those of you that are as annoyed with Bebo as I am... try this: Go to http://www.aol.com/ and log into the mail for the SN of the bebo profile you want to edit. It doesn't matter if it's an AIM or AOL name anymore, I think both run through the same system. Once you are logged in go to http://www.bebo.com/yoursn that SHOULD take you to the profile you want to edit AND you already should be logged into bebo. I know.. I know.. it should work without a go around, but sometimes, we gotta do what we gotta do! Let me know if it helps!

I've been using some music from Youtube and other videos to provoke my writing muse. I wanted to share them. A few are from the Australian TV series called McLeod's Daughters. There's irony there, really there is. Some of you might be able to figure out who the songs are for.

Some you have to click the links to view as the source has embeds blocked but that's how things go. Behind the cut are the songs, enjoy:

Ever have one of those days when your mood was reflected by a song called My Give a Damn's Busted? That's pretty much how I feel when certain situations are presented to me of late. That's about it for the moment.

I'm trying to sort out a backtrack of a story post for K. Just a bit of fluff, I think, but sometimes fluff is good.

I came across this and I hope every man that I know heeds it, REMEMBERS it and WRITES it down. You have to click Share, More Galleries, and 5 Things You Should NEVER say to a woman. Right out the gate they hit the one that pisses me off EVERY single time that a man says it to me when I'm in a huff: RELAX! Yup, easy as that. I'm entitled to freak out, don't tell me to calm down, just hush up and let me be mad for a while. That does mean the man has to agree with me, just recognize that whatever it was that set me off annoys, irks, or otherwise ticks me off!

Edit (6 May 2008 ): Heh. I meant DOES NOT have to agree with me. Apparently, I was in a real huff when I wrote that!

This video illustrates it just about perfectly! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbSoc0IFydU

Memories

Charlton Helston is dead. I think what impressed me most in the news article is that he was married to the same woman for 64 years.

Today would have been my paternal grandmother's birthday. She passed on last year.

My husband sent me this link  because I'm a packrat. I'm glad to know that I'm not even in that woman's league! My first reaction to the guy's bitching is... "If you don't like it, move the hell out." Yes, the woman has serious issues, but if he's a freaking adult, I have to wonder what's the excuse that he can't take himself out of the situation.

Friday, we did Bennigan's for dinner and then went over to Hastings. I got Tommy and Tuppence Set 2 on DVD. If you are an Agatha Christie buff, you probably know who they are. They are my favorites of her detectives. My next bunch of DVD viewings is going to be Smallville. Tom now has seasons 1-6. Picked up 6 for 19.99 at Wal-mart.

I'm amazed at how much "old" stuff that my mother likes is in the 5 dollar bins at Wal-mart. I found a Platters CD and a DVD with a collection of Alfred Hitchcock films.  Maybe that makes me sound cheap, but I rather buy something inexpensive that I know she will like as opposed to pricey that she'll look at with that "What am I supposed to do with this" expression. We've all seen that look on someone's face at least once!

A couple hours ago, I felt sleepy, but now, I'm bouncing off the walls again!

I bagged and tagged up to 20 June 2005.

I got about two, maybe two and a half pages of writing done; according to Word anyway.

I've been looking for Voices of Comfort for a while, but I want the whole CD not just a few tracks. I like her voice. Looks like ITunes has it. WOOT! Must get download card! If you run a search for Cait agus Sean, you'll find it.

I keep listening to the Three Musketeers soundtrack (the Disney one with Kiefer Sutherland). Something about it is poking my muse.  It will come to me in time.

One of the world's most beautiful voices is silenced to the ears of those on earth. Luciano Pavarotti passed away.

When I think of opera, I think of a lovely lady that grew up in in NYC. She, like Mr. Pavarotti, is no longer among the living. I have fond memories of her stories of the Met and other places in her hometown. She preferred to be called Gene, short for Genevieve.  That was her middle name, she apparently wasn't fond of her given name, Lillian.

Another passing:

Madeleine L’Engle, who in writing more than 60 books, including childhood fables, religious meditations and science fiction, weaved emotional tapestries transcending genre and generation, died Thursday in Connecticut. She was 88.

She was best known as the author of the series that began with the book, "A Wrinkle in Time."

Current audio book is "It Takes a Village, Tenth Anniversary Edition" by Hillary Rodham Clinton.

I finished the white yarned areas on my project, added the gold thread and added the corner pearls. Still need to add the bells, flowers, put a backing on it, and add the sleeve.

Dear Lucy,

Dear Linus,

Dear Lucy,

Quit stealing the damn football.

Now, maybe a lot of IQs have slipped around the world, but mine hasn't. My memory slips a bit, but not THAT much. Pristine, unused ammunition couldn't have been fired at anyone. Yes, yes, it says.. HIT her house, but the natural assumption is that they were fired and that just hain't so.

Yes... it's after midnight, so yes, it is.

Current audio book is Dirty Blonde by Lisa Scottoline. I still have Flesh and Bone: A Body Farm Novel (Body Farm Novels) by Jefferson Bass and Seduced by Moonlight by Laurell K. Hamilton. I had an abridged edition of the latter and decided to try the unabridged to see if there's a difference when there's more to the story.

My Horoscope for today is a hmm thing.
Enough of this drivel; let's get to the heart of the matter. This is a good day for you to dig deep and uncover the source of what is beneath it all, CATHY. No one is going to be able to prove you wrong. Your emotions are sensitive and your ego is grounded. You will find that the masculine and feminine sides of your personality are working harmoniously in order to make you feel self confident and bold.

So, I have some catch up writing to do and soon. When RP scenes should be played out but get held up for whatever reasons, you have to compensate and move along to catch things up.

Monday

Our phone service has gone stoopid. It's been out, more or less, since Sunday about 4 PM. We reported it to Embarq in person. Seems there's a major outage over here. It was supposed to be back on by 6 PM, no go. Maybe there's more than one break. The irony here is I was going to call the DPW downtown, today, to ask if the three exploding holes not to far from the house have been reported. I have no other words to describe them. It looks like underground sewage pipes ruptured and are trying to come to the surface. First it was one, then it was a second and now a third is popping up. Come to think of it, I wonder if that's part of the phone issue.

We did the usual Monday drill. Dry cleaning pick up, groceries, and library. Kevin got a haircut.

I picked up some Hershey's truffle and some post cards. You know where this is going, don't you? Especially if you live down South. I opened the bag of truffles and took out one. Husband says... "what none for me?" And he got himself one. We got home and yep... melted truffles. Not too big a deal IF they had stayed in their bag, but nooooooooooooo, I now have at least one chocolaty good post card. Alrrrrrrrrrrrighty then.

Got the dog taken care of and most of that wood out of the yard for bulk trash. I kept a few pieces in case we need them for the flower frame. Some might call it a flower box, but it's just a 2x4 wooden frame to keep my husband from running things over with the mower. If it doesn't rain we'll get the next section done on Saturday.  I'll buzz the weeds and do the hauling. Tom can do the planting.

Tried the Biscuit Taco Cups recipe, it's really good!
Finished Everything's Eventual by Stephen King. Started Just Rewards by Barbara Taylor Bradford.

So, for some reason my Sims 2 game kept tripping a "no signal" error on my monitor. No other software kicks this error, just that game. So, you computer people, any thoughts on that? Keep in mind that I usually do hear sound when it fizzes. I'm going through and dumping empty, duplicate, and unreadable files. I'm hoping that clears up the problem.

Not much else to say right now. More later.

In a couple months, the last Harry Potter novel will hit the shelves. People are likely to be lined up for the midnight release, again. Then again, it's not often you get a book series that crosses generational lines. People from preteens to grandparents are reading them.

I'm looking forward to seeing The Order of the Phoenix hit the big screen this summer. So far, that's been my favorite of the books. We have all but one on audio tape, I think. Time to listen again and get geared up for the new one.

In meantime, I leave you with the lyrics of my favorite song from the Goblet of Fire soundtrack, Magic Works:

We all get by with a little help from our friends, so, please take a minute to pop over to this site and give a listen to the music of my deejay friend [livejournal.com profile] evily . It's called Lightspeed Past the Kuiper Belt.

So, I have a song stuck in my head. It's something from Phantom of the Opera, one of the romantic duets. Hell if I know the title, though. I picked up used copy of the movie over at Hollywood Video for 6 bucks.

And by the way, what's wrong with the word used anyway? We see preowned, previously viewed...  and other such titles slapped on thing. It's still used... sheesh. They think we aren't going to know? The general public isn't THAT dumb.

Am I the only parent that sometimes thinks teenagers are another species? I keep trying to explain to my son that 20 to 30 minutes a day spent in making his bed, picking up his bedroom floor, putting up his laundry, making sure his bathroom is free of trash, dirty laundry, toilet articles are not strewn all over, and picking up after himself in the common areas of the house would save him hours of being bitched at.. but does he listen... Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. It's not like I even ask him to wash his clothes, just fork over the dirty ones and put away the clean ones.

So, later today, we are cleaning out the Explorer and doing the backyard trash pick up.

I have a kitchen table that's "full of parts." I'm clearing off the catch all table that was holding much of my "in progress" stuff. I keep finding a lot of WIP (works in progress) all over the house.

10:36 PM

Tried out a new recipe, Tangy Chicken in Citrus Sage Sauce, it was interesting. Next new one we try will be Bavarian Pork Chops.

We had a minor change in plans in the outdoor work today. The car is cleaned out, the trash is picked up, but we didn't do the trellis or clean up around the tree. We ended up washing the dog. There was a very pleasant surprise out back. Two of my rosebushes have buds on them, the Sterling Silver and the Nancy Reagan. I cleared up a pile of stuff in the living room and started sorting the things to be sent out for the holidays.
