Much like I understand the humor in the Golden Girls more and more as I get older, I get this one, too!

Found this in some e-mail files:

A. A. A. D. D. – Classic Retirement Syndrome
Recently, I was diagnosed with A. A. A. D. D. – Age-Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.
This is how it manifests itself:
I decide to water my garden.
As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide my car needs washing.
As I start toward the garage, I notice that there is mail on the porch table that I brought up from the mail box earlier.
I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.
I lay my car keys down on the table, put the junk mail in the trash bin under the table, and notice that the bin is full.
So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the trash first.
But then I think, since I’m going to be near the mailbox when I take out the garbage anyway, I may as well pay the bills first.
I take my checkbook off the table, and see that there is only one check left. My extra checks are in my desk in the study, so I go inside the house to my desk where I find the can of Coke that I had been drinking.
I’m going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the Coke aside so that I don’t accidentally knock it over. I see that the Coke is getting warm, and I decide I should put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.
As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke, a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye: They need to be watered.
I place the Coke down on the work surface, and I discover my reading glasses that I’ve been searching for all morning.
I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I’m going to water the flowers.
I set the glasses back down on the work top, fill a container with water and suddenly I spot the TV remote. Someone has left it on the kitchen table.
I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV, I will be looking for the remote, but I won’t remember that it’s on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back where it belongs, but first I’ll water the flowers.
I pour some water in the flower vase, but quite a bit of it spills on the floor. So, I set the remote back down on the table, get some towels and wipe up the spill.
Then, I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do.
At the end of the day:
The car isn’t washed.
The bills aren’t paid.
There is a warm can of Coke sitting on the work surface.
The flowers don’t have enough water.
There is still only one check in my checkbook.
I can’t find the TV remote.
I can’t find my glasses and I don’t remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today. I’m really baffled because I know I was busy all day long and I’m really tired. I realize this is a serious problem, and I’ll try to get some help for it, but first I’ll check my email.
P.S. I just remembered I left the water running…

Maybe I find that entirely too funny! I've experienced a few of those things.

What American accent do you have?
Created by Xavier on Memegen.net

Northeastern.
You're probably from somewhere near New York City, possibly north Jersey, or Connecticut or Rhode Island. If you are from New York City you may be one of the types who people never believe when you say you're from New York.

If you are not from here, you are probably one of the following:
(a) A Philadelphian who can't stand the way other Philadelphians say "on";
(b) A Yat from New Orleans; or
(c) Someone from England, Australia, or New Zealand, in which case why are you doing this quiz in the first place?

Take this quiz now - it's easy!
We're going to start with "cot" and "caught." When you say those words do they sound the same or different?

Lego has brought fun to the lives of many. These keychains were purchased in 1999 at Legoland in Billund, Denmark. I forget the name of the wizard, but the other two should be easy to recognize.

The Shape of Things to Come
Professional and personal change are stressed this November, and it's better to be bold and take the initiative than to stand still and simply react. You find yourself more comfortable in your own skin now, making you more alluring to others.

Interesting, no?

Here are the highlights:

We celebrated 29 years of marriage on Sunday.
We did Thai for dinner on Saturday afternoon.
I handed out candy on Saturday night.
The boys had their annual "Halloween" RP on Sunday.
I have two pieces to post/finish for LT. I have other characters creeping into my head.
I need to get with a couple of RP buddies to sort a few things out.
I have the Monday drill to do. It's a recycling week.
No idea what I'll fix for dinner. I'll think of something.
I have this much progress achieved in NaNoWriMo
763 / 50000 words. 2% done! It'll be posted somewhere or other.

So ...

If you received a link from me via one of my AIM screen names, do NOT go to it. It is possibly a password stealer as per Firefox.
I apologize for this, I was caught off guard. Just one more thing to add to an already insane day! More on that later.
If you know anything about coding and can decipher if this might be snagging anything, please let me know.

And thank you to [livejournal.com profile] art_witch who let me know her browser set off a warning.

It seems that dog sized hole in our lives is now filled.

We went to look at this pretty little pup, Daisy. Sweet dog until we decided we might like to adopt two.  Tom had his eye on a lab mix named Laddie. Apparently Daisy has big issues about being in charge. Her first move was to climb up on Laddie, he tolerated that, but when he had enough and backed up, she bit his ear. He growled and that was that. Daisy might have been a good dog for us, but it was a choice of one or the other since they didn't get along. Laddie came home with us. He's settling in nicely.

If you would like to be on my friends/reading list, please drop me a comment. If I know you from any venue like RoH, DM, or LT please note that.

Due to something I found on the internet recently, even more of my posts will be friends only. Some things in life are are just way too squicky! Explanation has pretty much been given to my friends already, but there you have it.

Peace out.

Edited to avoid confusion:
If you would like to be added to my friends list, please drop a comment. I'm not dropping anyone.

Trampolines ... they might be ;great for the 12 and up set, but my neighbors need to wake up to the lawsuit they are inviting! There's a toddler and a preschooler living in the other side of that duplex, no fence. And Saturday, the toddler had been stranded on the trampoline by "big" sister and started wailing. I realize that kids can get hurt even when you are standing right next to them, but there's stupidity on both sides over there.

I have new router, more details later.
Silly stuff from the e-mail files!

Safely settled into my chair to write. I have some iced tea and my snuggly shawl. The house is quiet for the moment. ::knocks wood:: Four ideas and which to run with first? That's the question!

Today was productive. Got several things done. Recently watched Secret Yellowstone and Beyond the Movie - Troy, both National Geographic productions. I enjoyed watching NG programs as a kid. Was amazed to learn that there two million acres to Yellowstone and it has at least 300 waterfalls. There are seven known wolf packs that live in Yellowstone. Wolves were reintroduced to the area in 1995.

I finally finished the hall closet. Ended up using those vacuum storage bags. HOLY MOLY... they squashed my big comforter almost flat! I need to get a few more of those!

Thursday will be clean the front yard day, I think. Maybe part of it Thursday and part Friday. We'll see what the weather looks like.

Next week the game plan is getting car in for repairs and getting Tom's closet cleaned out.

June 2 is the release date for Sims 3, I've been debating on this a long time. I think I'm going to get the game after all. Especially since they will be using a packaging system again. It used to bug me to no end when DLing things for the first Sims game and have to hunt down the wallpaper, furniture, etc. to get the houses to look like the pictures.

Anywho ... off to write, I hope.
