What American accent do you have?
Created by Xavier on Memegen.net

Northeastern.
You're probably from somewhere near New York City, possibly north Jersey, or Connecticut or Rhode Island. If you are from New York City you may be one of the types who people never believe when you say you're from New York.

If you are not from here, you are probably one of the following:
(a) A Philadelphian who can't stand the way other Philadelphians say "on";
(b) A Yat from New Orleans; or
(c) Someone from England, Australia, or New Zealand, in which case why are you doing this quiz in the first place?

Take this quiz now - it's easy!
We're going to start with "cot" and "caught." When you say those words do they sound the same or different?

Let's start with ... Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] mummm!

I stare a blank screen and cursor flashing at me while I try to remember what it was I wanted to write about. Usually I've had an idea in mind and when I finally get around to sitting down, I forget half of it and stare somewhat goofy faced wondering what I was doing! Scary innit, but that's what getting older and letting your mind go lax can do!

Here's one of the things on my mind today. Does anyone on my FL crochet? Sew? Do needlepoint or cross-stitch? I know there are communities out there to discuss that kind of thing, but this is my LJ and I'm asking! Anyone do other arts and craft work? So, discuss!

Every time I go to a hobby/craft store, my husband's worst nightmare, I think, is don't let her find a NEW hobby! This is list of what I dabble in:
Cross-stitch
plastic canvas needlepoint
embroidery
jewelry making and other bead work
fabric painting
Dollhouse miniatures
Making doll clothes, accessories, and furniture
floral arrangements
Candle making
soap making (melt and pour, I'm not ambitious enough to try cold processing nor do I want to work with lye)

There are probably piles of things out in the cabinets needing homes and screaming... MAKE SOMETHING WITH ME!!!

I never really picked up on crochet or knitting, but evidenced by the mention of doll things, I prefer working in small scale. That remind me, I need to ask Mom if she still has that loom set and if she does and wants to get rid of it to send it out.

Something to think on for today:
Your dreams are more than just random firings of the brain, CATHY. They can indicate unresolved issues, stresses, deep desires, and lost memories. Further, they can prove instrumental to understanding yourself, and even in solving problems. Many advocate keeping a dream journal, given the power within your subconscious and all that can be learned from it. Consider examining your dreams of late. Analyze them to see if there is something you need to recognize.

I had this dream the other night... and I think I need to write it up. Sunday might be a good time.

Things that have been hiding in my e-mail: )

I realized that there are several notifications in my mailbox for the random facts meme, so I need to get my finger out of my ear and get that done! Also have some comments to answer for LJ that have been sitting there a while.

So, I went a little silly....  and took a pile of quizzes just to see what would happen.

I'm Cathy and
I'm a Bluefin Tuna.

Cathy, based on the results of the quiz, the fish you're closest to is a Bluefin Tuna!

Often referred to as the Porsche of the sea, you can reach speeds of over 50mph, whilst swimming just beneath the water’s surface. You are warm-blooded, which is rare among fish, and have incredible migratory ability. You can be found in a large range of habitats -- occupying the cold waters around Newfoundland and Iceland to the warm waters of the tropics. You can grow to 14ft in length, weigh up to 1500 pounds, and live up to 30 years, whilst enjoying a diet of small fish, squid and crustaceans.

Unfortunately, you are also under critical threat from overfishing. As a popular seafood, you can be found in restaurants around the world - especially in sushi dishes - and you are a highly prized sports fish. But as demand exceeds supply, your population levels are endangered. This is reflected in your price as you are considered one of the world’s most valuable fish - a fellow bluefin sold for $172,400 at a Tokyo fish market.

While bagging and tagging the second half of September ( I finished September 2005), I found The Nerd, Geek or Dork Test. It's still active here if anyone wants to take it. I was an Outcast Genius.

Wednesday's to do list:
Sausage and potatoes for dinner.
Laundry
General pick up
Move stuff from table in garage to dining room table, move stuff from shelf to table, clean shelf, put craft stuff on shelf.
Sort cart of cross-stitch supplies, container of yarn, etc.

Edit: I did not get the yarn box or cross-stitch cart done. I did get it started

Thursday
Weed flower beds
Trim around house and along rock wall.
Get Tom to change the light bulb over my desk

Friday
Check other cart
Empty Mini cabinet; sort stuff, trash crap
Get Tom to put away Dark Elves

Need to write or call Mom and ask about that flower loom set.
Need to ask Jessica for something called "All Hands" magazine for Dad or order it off the net.

8:59 PM

Jessica called this afternoon and wouldn't you know it, I forgot to ask her about the magazine.
Need to make a shopping list.

I have the cross-stitch, etc. cart pulled apart.
More of the Loot List back here. )
More of that later

I finished cutting up a log into a post. I have another piece to start.

Now, for your amusement, Beatles Baby. This is a video of a little one around two singing the Beatles classic "Hey Jude."

The fan in my computer case has gone stewpid. It's not essential to the machine, it's more of an extra precaution. However, should I disappear from the internet for a while, you'll know why. There's a shop in the next town where I can buy the part and replace it, but not until Tom has the day off. It's a matter of replacing four screws and plugging it in. Oh, yes, as friend said, gotta wear shoes. It's an inside joke.

The Daily Babble and boy do I ever! )

There are still 3 quotes on the movie quote meme that were not correctly identified.

yellowrosetx: (Default)

Here are the rules:

1. Pick 15 of your favourite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Fill in the film title once it's guessed.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions.

And under the cut are the quotes:

Somehow, I ended up with the Wheel of Fortune in the tarot quiz.  I think that's the same as I got the last few times.

My friend Shelle,  better known in LJ land as [livejournal.com profile] her_whispers, is going to be participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in July.  Pop by and give her page a looksee. If you can support her efforts financially in this cause, please do so. If you can't, please send her good thoughts to help her make her goal. Remember, every dollar matters.

If your eyes are passing over this right now, (even if we don't speak often) please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me. It can be anything you want BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE. When you're finished, if you wish... post this little paragraph in your journal and be exhilarated by what people DO NOT ACTUALLY remember about you.
