General thinking, news, and mayhem behind the cut.
The wedding last weekend was wonderful. The jacket that went with my dress was glittering everyone. Rey, father of the groom, said it was like being baptized by Tinkerbell.
They gathered up the married couples in a half circle around the newlyweds. They asked how long we were married. The longest time was 56 years, I think that was the bride's grandparents. The MC asked the man to give a piece of advice to the groom and the woman to give advice to the bride. Her advice was for Laura to not forget how precious Danny is. I thought that was sweet. The gent made us all laugh. His advice was, "Don't forget to wear your hearing aid in a place like this."
Estelle Getty, who played Sofia on The Golden Girls, passed away just a few days before her 85th birthday. She was suffering from advanced dementia. I prefer to remember her as the feisty woman on and off camera.
Her TV daughter had this to say:
"Our mother-daughter relationship was one of the greatest comic duos ever, and I will miss her," Arthur said in a statement.
I've been watching clips of Golden Girls on Youtube for the last few days. Estelle Getty, Bea Arthur, Betty White and Rue McClanahan gave those that watched the show a priceless gift. Laughter and it really is the best medicine.
It was nice to see that the comments in her obit remained as people expressing sympathies.
So, what's up with that anyway? People turn every commenting on every other article into a religious and/or political discussion. Oy.
Some silliness that the moms might get a laugh over, In the Motherhood.
I have some writing to do, a LOT of writing to do. Two days ago, Kirin was quiet and I was slowly eking out pieces for Ciara. Now the trio is screaming and a fourth is joining them! Off to write!
