In Houston the other day, a gator, nine feet long, wandered into a suburb at, of all places, a school bus stop! The neighbors were all excited and were out taking pictures, etc. They called in a game warden, hoping he would take the critter back to the preserve or whatever.
The folks are now up in arms because the warden wrangled the critter with a rope, tied it to his bumper and "dragged" him down the road and shot the gator when he was clear of the population center. Maybe not the best thing, but I have to wonder about the morbid fascination of some folks that they let their kids so close to an alligator that a bike tire ran over it. (I heard that on local radio.)
