Everybody is talking about....
Dec. 29th, 2007 11:59 pmThe assassination of Bhutto in Pakistan, Time Warner wising up and not sticking digital locks on their downloaded music, and the tiger that escaped her enclosure; she killed one and mauled two.
The only thing I'm going to comment on there is the tiger. I am in no way intending to diminish the loss of life or the wounds the young men received. Those are horrendous. What bothers me that one of the wounded kids felt the need to lie about the whereabouts of the young man that died before the incident at the zoo. Supposedly, they were in the zoo after closing time. While I'm sure that a large zoo deals with stragglers not leaving by closing time that coupled with the lies to the parents leads me to believe that some sort of mischief was afoot.
When I first read the article, I wondered why those three and no one else. Seemed odd to me that a tigress would kill one person and specifically track down two others in a zoo that was full of people. Then I read the part about it being after closing and said hmm... possible planned mischief.
I read the comments posted on the article AOL published and was amazed to see that someone actually asked the question, "Why was there no water in the moat in the tiger enclosure? What's the point of a dry moat?" I thought.. now, there's someone that's either ignorant of the behavior of large cats or they are stupid! I looked at my kid and said, "Why's the moat dry?" He said... " Because tigers can swim." However, my son is the one who has been asked the hypothetical question about a zombie attack on our town and knows the best places to go to survive.
