The fan in my computer case has gone stewpid. It's not essential to the machine, it's more of an extra precaution. However, should I disappear from the internet for a while, you'll know why. There's a shop in the next town where I can buy the part and replace it, but not until Tom has the day off. It's a matter of replacing four screws and plugging it in. Oh, yes, as friend said, gotta wear shoes. It's an inside joke.

There are still 3 quotes on the movie quote meme that were not correctly identified.

The assassination of Bhutto in Pakistan, Time Warner wising up and not sticking digital locks on their downloaded music, and the tiger that escaped her enclosure; she killed one and mauled two.

The only thing I'm going to comment on there is the tiger.  I am in no way intending to diminish the loss of life or the wounds the young men received. Those are horrendous. What bothers me that one of the wounded kids felt the need to lie about the whereabouts of the young man that died before the incident at the zoo. Supposedly,  they were in the zoo after closing time. While I'm sure that a large zoo deals with stragglers not leaving by closing time that coupled with the lies to the parents leads me to believe that some sort of mischief was afoot.

When I first read the article, I wondered why those three and no one else. Seemed odd to me that a tigress would kill one person and specifically track down two others in a zoo that was full of people. Then I read the part about it being after closing and said hmm... possible planned mischief.

I read the comments posted on the article AOL published and was amazed to see that someone actually asked the question, "Why was there no water in the moat in the tiger enclosure? What's the point of a dry moat?" I thought.. now, there's someone that's either ignorant of the behavior of large cats or they are stupid! I looked at my kid and said, "Why's the moat dry?" He said... " Because tigers can swim."  However, my son is the one who has been asked the hypothetical question about a zombie attack on our town and knows the best places to go to survive.

I think [livejournal.com profile] ehzoterik is about to get her wish ... if I'm lucky and this flow continues, there will be a new story rolling under Forest of the Unicorn in the next few days. Woot!

My desk is in a state of what some might call organized clutter.  Craft things tossed about in various stages of completion are on and behind my workstation. I have several sets of drawers and a small old desk that holds things as well. I keep saying "one of these days." Let me tell you, people, one of these days is going to be very busy!!

I have discovered that if I set up my needlework and play a bit of mood music that it does encourage my writing to flow a bit. Two of my characters have been poking at my muse and saying.. "Wake up and get moving!" I have ideas for them that need to be sorted into coherent sentences rather than disjointed ideas. A third is strangely silent, but that's a more subject (rant?) for the BF Board at ME.

Kevin and I stopped at Wal-mart, but only grabbed a couple things as he wasn't feeling well. I still need to get gift cards for Tyler and Logan. I think cash for the older two. Aaron's birthday isn't until next month.

I need to call to request an increase in my CC limit so I can make sure we are covered for buying tickets and renting a car while in GA.

Need to edit pictures for posting.

More later!

I managed to get a couple of pieces up in [livejournal.com profile] navarra. One is pretty much fluff, the other has to do with the Great Redcap Hunt. Looks like the main battle should finally get cracking, I hope.

A friend recently posed the question.. .what's wrong with people? I read something that made me wonder the same thing.
Those of you that are animal lovers will be sickened and angered by this: 2 teens get 10 years in tortured puppy case Brothers receive little sympathy from judge.More on this story. )

And in the hoorah for my old school dept: Mystery Ailment Strikes Honeybees. Penn State has discovered a disease that's killing honey bees. This is good and bad. Good that it's been found and might be stoppable, bad news that it exists at all.

Still sick but slightly improved. Still hacking up crap. Now along with my head, my mouth hurts. :/

Attention span of flea or something.. Then again I should be cleaning up my house and end up coughing like a maniac

I have a few story ideas rolling in my head. They should go on the ME board, but I'm not sure, yet. I need to get my act together on the story for Rhi, but Collie's is almost ready to pop. The more I listen to certain music, the more images I see.

8:04 PM

As for ME, I wish someone would just post, "the good guys go in, pummel the Redcaps, Dimitri ends up dead as do a few others, someone offs the big bad guy, the rest are left to go home, bury the dead, and put the pieces of their lives back together as best they can." I mean, we already know that not only does Irina not get the revenge she came for, but ends up looking like a blithering idiot when Dimitri ends up dead. Irony... avenging one mate costs another. Some of the party is probably going to end up with their thumbs up their asses because these are WW Redcaps not traditional ones, so other than the OCD need to finish it and see it done, what's the point? Lesson learned there, never date anything in a group scenario, otherwise the outcome is already known and in most cases acted upon.

My horoscopes over the weekend: "If verbal communication doesn't suffice, CATHY, look to the written word for effective expression. The spoken word can be far easier to misunderstand or to come out wrong. They can get caught in your throat and leave you at critical times. Writing however gives voice to your thoughts without pressure or interaction. It's a clear path to speaking your mind when you're ready. There's time to think before saying. Try this - you'll be surprised at how effective it is."

And:
"Your dreams are more than just random firings of the brain, CATHY. They can indicate unresolved issues, stresses, deep desires, and lost memories. Further, they can prove instrumental to understanding yourself and even in solving problems. Many advocate keeping a 'dream journal' given the power within your subconscious and all that can be learned from it. Consider examining your dreams of late. Analyze them to see if there is something you need to recognize."

So, here's a little written communication.

What do you do when you've laid all your cards on the table and don't get adequate replies/rebuttles to your questions/comments/demands? Do you press harder, because it means a lot, or say screw it and just let go of whatever it was that meant so much to you because you are tired of feeling ignored and are tired of not being worth a fight as the saying goes? I mean really... if I am not worth an effort on someone's part, what's the point in trying? Discuss.

Please note that all replies are screened on this post, so  please reply without fear of your thoughts being shared with anyone but me.

Other than being sick and needing to clean house, life at home's been good. Kevin bought me the last book in Series of Unfortunate Events!!!

I got most of the things done on my Friday list. I opted to forgo the garden centers because I went nuts at Target's after Easter clearance. It's only April and already the heat or something is getting to me.

Monday, I will be cleaning out that Rubber maid storage shed on the patio. I picked up a couple of those little digging tools at Target for a buck. I'm not sure if my old ones are wrecked or not, but they were a buck apiece, so, it's no financial loss if I have two sets.
Need to dig up a plastic storage box from the garage to put said tools in.

Well, stick me with a fork, I'm bitching about dumbasses again.. )

Lately, I just don't seem to have the urge to write anything outside my journal. Well, to be more precise I have too many ideas rolling in my head and they get muddled. I started a few pieces as well as done some for the Great Redcap Hunt, but ... it's like I'm second and third guessing some of those things.

Craft wise, I have finished the stitching on the four main panels for one of the plastic canvas vases. I need to cut the pieces for the base then the next step is putting it together.

I need to get up by 9:30 to get Liz at the airport. Gah... I can still get like 5 hours sleep

Added a few pieces to The Great Redcap Hunt. Nothing major, mostly to get myself back on track before company arrives. Writing Diana is getting easier. Somehow, it's appropriate what the character has evolved into considering that that Diana is the goddess of the hunt.

Was hoping to get another piece up for Rhi but my brain just isn't cooperating on it at the moment. Writing events leading up to this birth is almost as befuddling as some actual births are. Maybe befuddling is the wrong word. I seem to be having translation from brain to finger issues. I see this picture in my head and can't quite get it into words. It's like something else is trying fly past it. I still have a couple of stories that need work. Maybe they are trying to bull their way out.

Anyway... winds rising outside, tornado watch in effect. Going to dreamland. Night night.

I got a post up for NCU (New Camelot University) and ideas are rolling for ME (Mutual Endeavors). The latter might be off the wall, but who knows, given the content of the story in progress, it might not be so harebrained after all.

Dinner tonight is going to be chicken cooked in a white sauce with potatoes on the side. Kevin says he's trying to stop eating when he's no longer hungry. This is good. I try to make a one piece of meat per person and at least one side dish. Sometimes, I make a few sides. I like red beets, he likes broccoli, and never the twain shall meet on the subjects, so.... when I have the beets, I fix him broccoli. In fact, sounds good, I wonder if I still have beets in my can cupboard. If not, I have plenty of corn.

11:46 PM

Dinner was good. No beets, but I made the broccoli anyway.

I did some more fiddling with my soap stuff. If they come out right, they will be beautiful. Sparkly blue roses and an attempt at embossed soap.  I bought two stamps to use for this project. If they come out right, there will be one with dolphins and another with a lighthouse.

Listening to The Best of the Original Chicken Soup for the Soul.

First off, a big thanks to [livejournal.com profile] blackhilllife for what I found in yesterday's mail! I look forward to reading the books! :)

I managed to get most of the things on my list done, yesterday. Today, it's somewhat smaller, shave the dog, mail things, and get Tom back and forth to services. Except for the dog, it's mostly driving. Hopefully, no glitches. ::knocks wood::

I managed to get a kickstart piece done for [livejournal.com profile] navarra and the new NCU board. Hopefully, the folks for the NCU (New Camelot University) group will add on to that.

I have been mulling over a few ideas for the Mutual Endevaours Redcap Hunt. Collie is not a character strictly based on White Wolf's Changeling, she's based on a lot of things including myths, GURPS Celtic Myth (and a bunch of their other stuff) plus my own twists. Should be interesting to see how her back story works into the current events. I dropped a couple of brief posts in the Redcap Hunt story. Trying to get the cobwebs out of my brain.

More later.
