I figured out why the willow trees looked off here.

Willows grow better near water so having them near a pond was fitting. Thing is, the cottage is supposed to be in the woods. Those willows looked odd all by their lonesome. I went with ash trees. Oak might have been better, but the tall trees imply that the cottage and woodlands it was built in have been around a while.  This is how the place looks within the trees that hide it.

This is how it looks once you get past that first layer of trees. The two on the walking path are rowan trees.

There's a minor addition of a water trough outside the fence; it's for her canine companion. I'm considering a change in the windows to ones with shutters. If I find a stonework texture that I like better for the exterior, I might change that, too. The rest of the outside layout is now staying put; I'm happy with it. :)

That's very cool! It's a shame that you can't change those modern looking roads and randomize those trees a little more to make it more like a forest. I can't do that game, AT ALL. I tried once and ended up with my people starving to death and the weirdest house you would ever see!

There's a way to add trees outside of that lot from the neighborhood screen. I have it set to only show that lot for now.

I might end up doing a custom neighborhood which could be fun! I love the game, but I also make use of a couple of hacks from time to time that let me keep them from starving.

Ah HA! I would have no idea how to *cheat* a bit. *L*

If I remember right, mine also had bladder problems!

I played around with the house creation last night (much to the amusement of my youngest daughter), but in the end she said "Your house looks really cool, even if you did make it too big and take up way too much room." So, I am debating whether or not to play around again tonight. I spent around 2 hours last night making that darn house. :)

Oh, and what add-ons, expansions, whatever they are called in SIMS do you have? I suppose I need the pets one for the horses and stuff, but are there any others for the "old fashioned/medieval" furnishings?

I have all the expansions shown here http://thesims2.ea.com/about/index.php?pid=pcgames_index except Free Time (that's coming out next month)

As for the stuff packs, I do not have the Teen Stuff or the Kitchen/Bath pack.

I suggest Beck's Creations at modthesims2.com ( http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=265231 ) I have her rideable horse in mine. I haven't tried that part of it out, but it looks great in the setup.

You can get lost on that website there's so much stuff. ;)

I don't worry if the house is too big when messing around with it. I can always fiddle with scaling at a later time.
