First, I heard about the mini city thing from [livejournal.com profile] ladybast. http://mo-chroi.myminicity.com/ If you click the link, you help me boost my little city's population level. Thank you!

So, has anyone else heard the fuss about Chelsea Clinton telling a guy the answer to his question was none of his business?

Come on, Chelsea, you are out on the campaign trail for mom and supposed to be making her look good not coming off like a snarky bitch. Yes, she had every right to tell the guy it was none of his business, BUT... anything a President or potential President does in the public eye is subject to scrutiny.  Frankly, if I had been in her shoes, I think I would have told him that Hillary showed no weakness during the Monica Mess. Hillary tried to protect her daughter as best she could and she was loyal to her husband, whether or not he deserved it. Now, what happened behind closed doors that IS none of his business. Frankly, if Monica didn't go bragging about who she was blowing to her taping recording not friend, nobody would have been any the wiser.

To the guy that asked... Don't you have a better question to ask? I mean really, people MIGHT be asking in their own circles, you might have asked a question on a lot of people's minds, but really ... Lewinski is old news, LET IT GO, there are more important things to  worry about!!

I have one disc of Sherlock Holmes remaining to watch. I'm starting it up now. I have a few odds and ends to attend to around the house. 1 AM and I'm folding clothes and what not.  Sorted a pile of stuff to go back in the youngin's room.

Dinner ended up to be burgers and fries. I need to separate and freeze the hamburger. Not sure if making the meat pie or sausage. Might hit the store for shredded cheese or have Tom to it and make my own version of the pie.

Need to call the bank and check on deposits and balance. Hopefully, getting ready to kick the IRS mess in the ass a bit.

Barring rain, Thursday should be a good day to get to work in the yard. Tuesday can be used for dumping the fridge, laundering the throw rugs and mopping the kitchen floor. I figure I can toss the meat pie into cook before doing either job and it would be left to warm after cooking.

Need to have a long chat with my dear son. Since his work schedule has been changed to help accommodate his forthcoming school schedule, if I set up dental appointments on Tuesday or Thursday, he can drop me off and pick me up at the office or the library, which is open late on those nights.

Need to get the paving sand so Kevin and Tom can work on the walkway out to the game building. Also need to get a roll of screening so Tom can repair the screen again. Need to measure the windows that we no longer have screens for.

I have a few writing projects that I would like to get moving on.

2:30 AM

I'm tired and yawning, but if I go into bed, I'll just toss and turn. I have story in progress for K, but it's not quite ready yet. I have it half written, but when you are doing a dream sequence it can be awkward. I started what was supposed to be a  Quickstart Guide for[livejournal.com profile] navarra to explain who is who and what's what. It was originally going to be a family tree and grew.  It just keeps getting longer and longer! Then again, the original board that started it began on 31 December 1996. The LJ was started in January 2004 and I still have older things that weren't put in it, yet!

Friday, they are coming to install the new dishwasher. They already know about the dog, so that's good. Last thing I want is him eating a repairman!

Bagging and tagging for entries up to March 2005 is done.

Current audio book is Unhinged by Sarah Graves. On disc 4 of 8.  Read two chapters in Voyager.

RP has been fun so far this week!

On tap for Thursday:
UHBS
Laundry

Clean out the freezer and fridge.
Sweep and mop kitchen floor.

Eggplant and potatoes for dinner.
Check on couple of things for Kevin. 1/2 credit for this one.
Dump trash.

Pack up the photo CD I was working on and Mom's birthday gift for mailing on Friday.

Friday, I want to clear up my desk and get more done out in the garage. Much of the stuff out there is craft supplies.

I'd like to be during more craft work, but my current project is slow going. If I want to meet my one craft project goal for the month, I have 14 days to finish it. I have a total of 10 pieces in the project. Five pieces are finished, one is 1/3 of the way worked and the other two large pieces haven't been touched, yet. I think I figured out how to give Mother Goose a face.

I need Tom to take the trash bin with a bag in it out to the game room. Also need him to put the minis on the shelves that we took out there already.

Need one of the boys to change a couple of light bulbs. Kevin needs to do the litterbox before the weekend is out.

Oh, yes, Wednesday.

I have my to do list written up. Going to make some sort of pork for dinner. That's what I'm thawing. Probably white wine with garlic, maybe a touch of cheese.

to do list )

So, yes,  Wednesday is a bit busy.

Listening to both Rosie Dunne  (disc 2) and Honest Illusions (tape 1). Actually reading a paper book for a change, Irish Gold by Andrew Greeley (about half through).

I feel the need to write a story or two, but nothing is quite ready yet. Several characters raising their hands and saying, "Me, yes, me," but nothing clear at the moment.
yellowrosetx: (Celts)
I'll be a lot of things, but mostly, I feel tired. The boys are out back in the game room being it's a holiday. I'm going to stay in my little hidey hole today. I'm not up for the scrolling words on the chat screen and those cursor stealing ads. Ugh. My head hurts and that will make it worse. :(

For some time, I was trying to remember the name of an audiobook that I enjoyed that was part of a series. Well, kids, having a journal does indeed pay off! While tagging my entries from Aug 2004, I found it. The series is by Andrew Greeley and is about a character called Nuala Anne McGrail. There are at least four other books in the series. Nuala Anne is fey, you see, hence my attraction to the book.

I'm going to fend off this foul mood that's brewing and go create something beautiful.

So, I here I was all ready to rant rabidly about the Sunday cluster that goes on here every week and something in [livejournal.com profile] toadgirl's LJ caused me to smile and reflect on the more positive aspect of some things.

Every Sunday we have gamers over. It's a small group and my beefs aren't about the company, they are about the resident menfolk. How hard is.. "Tom, make sure the bathroom is clean before your company gets here" to grasp? It's not a huge big deal, but it is frustrating. On the good side, it gives the youngins something to look forward to every week and the parents involved know that these young men are out of trouble.

Kevin started on his project with the sand under the walkway to the game room. He also got rid of a nest of wasps on the side of the house.

I got all the parts cut for my latest craft project. Since there are a bunch of small pieces involved to create a three dimensional effect, it was a bit tedious. The pattern calls for white yarn and gold thread, but I'm wondering if a splash of color would look nice. Will post pictures when it's finished.

Had to bathe the dog, poor thing was a mess. Ick, fuzzy sick dog = messy back end.

On the last disc of Coffin Dancer. Listened to part of The Monsters of Morley Manor.

Celtic Heroine Quiz and silliness behind the cut )

I need to clarify something. I am not contemplating suicide and apologize for any misunderstanding that occurred over my post that discussed the subject. I will say this... Life is not a video game, we don't get a save game feature. It'd be nice, but it's not going to happen. In the world of RP  (role playing), we are sometimes allowed what are called do overs. People, while we might be lucky enough to get another chance at something in life, there are no guarantees, so fix it while you have a chance. Once it's too late, it's too late and no amount of kicking, screaming, whining, etc. will change that. And it's too late when someone is dead. Unless you are someone like Allison DuBois, you need to accept that and find your own peace.

All this has made me wonder what is going to be thought of the words have written and will one day, hopefully in the far far future, not be around or explain or defend it. It's like when a dear friend was cleaning out after a relative passed was wondering why some of the things were there. My family already knows I'm somewhat eccentric, ok, a lot eccentric, so I expect they will be wondering as well.

Sent Tom out to run a few errands. He's off to a grand start... he left the uniform, that he was supposed to drop off at the cleaners, on the rocking chair. Irony... you have to pass it to get out the door.

4:44 PM

He arrived back at the house with receipts in hand and all jobs done except the cleaner drop off.. which is not so bad. He can drop it off on his way to church tomorrow.

So, I'm going to attempt to use shrink wrap.  I have come to the conclusion that I need a new hair dryer. Then again... the heat required to do the shrink wrap might just be sending the poor thing into fits.

9:04 PM

Thought for a while there that I was going to be shrink wrapping me. Got it together though.

So, sent out a couple of things, rather, I had Tom do it. Two envelopes went off to PA, one to IL, and small box is on its way to the southeastern tip of the US.

While he's at church tomorrow I can probably get the binding for Logan's blanket pinned if not sewn. I still need to scale the pictures for the locket and put it on the chain. That will complete the box for Liz and her family.

This week at Hobby Lobby, I need to find a heart shaped hole punch for the pictures. Also need to look into frames.

Joey Dallas: "Plato was gay."
Jessica Tate: "Mickey Mouse had a gay dog?"

That's from the old TV sit com, Soap. I'm not sure why that popped into my head, but my head is weird like that.

I did find a bit of time to add more to the long running story in [livejournal.com profile] navarra. It's been an interesting experience going back through that character's life. In doing this, I did notice that made some errors in dating past posts. Someday over the rainbow, I'll fix it.

House full of gamers as is the norm for Sunday these days. They are decent bunch. Typical young adults, older teens, loud and boisterous, but not in a bad way.
yellowrosetx: (Self)
Today is the 29th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley. I hadn't really thought about that when I was watching my fresh out of Wal-Mart DVD of Blue Hawaii. I can say that I will be buying whatever other Elvis movies I can find over there as Mom and Dad are big fans. There were at least seven titles in the bin. I'm thinking about layaway.

The other day I hit Hobby Lobby and will probably go back on Saturday from more frames. I'm pretty good at eyeballing size on some things, but frames are still iffy.

I know it's a meme, but here are my answers

1. Name: Cathy

4. Favorite Movie: The Quiet Man/Highlander, it's a tie.

So, I finally got my hands on Pour L'Amour Et Liberte: The Book of Houses 2 (Changeling Dreaming , No 2) and am waiting on Fool's Luck. Kevin and I lucked out on a pair of auctions from Guido's Gypsy Wagon. 2 books and postage less than 25 bucks. Still will need this one Pooka Kithbook to complete the collection. Apparently someone sprang for the 99 bucks as the one amazon.com

New Year's Day was a fairly quiet day.

Tom had a few friends over and they had a good time beating on the video games and chatting away.

Kevin worked the holiday.

First off, a big thanks to [livejournal.com profile] blackhilllife for what I found in yesterday's mail! I look forward to reading the books! :)

I managed to get most of the things on my list done, yesterday. Today, it's somewhat smaller, shave the dog, mail things, and get Tom back and forth to services. Except for the dog, it's mostly driving. Hopefully, no glitches. ::knocks wood::

I managed to get a kickstart piece done for [livejournal.com profile] navarra and the new NCU board. Hopefully, the folks for the NCU (New Camelot University) group will add on to that.

I have been mulling over a few ideas for the Mutual Endevaours Redcap Hunt. Collie is not a character strictly based on White Wolf's Changeling, she's based on a lot of things including myths, GURPS Celtic Myth (and a bunch of their other stuff) plus my own twists. Should be interesting to see how her back story works into the current events. I dropped a couple of brief posts in the Redcap Hunt story. Trying to get the cobwebs out of my brain.

More later.

Mondain.... Minax .... Exodus ... The Quest of the Avatar.... Warriors of Destiny .... The False Prophet ... The Black Gate ... The Forge of Virtue ... Serpent Isle ... and The Silver Seed... .

Those that walked the path of the Avatar take a step back into the Britannia, which rose from Sosaria, that you remember. A Britannia that was ancient and awaiting the coming of the coming of one that would heal it. One that would be the epitome of the eight virtues (Honesty, Honor, Valor, Sacrifice, Spirituality, Compassion, Humility, and Justice) and the three principles (Truth, Love, and Courage). One that would defeat the Shadowlords and seek to stop Blackthorn's oppression. The world needs heroes once again and they will rise at the call of Lord British.

For those that read that and think I've gone off my rocker, remember that I am a gamer and somewhat of a writer. What I'm speaking of is the well known Ultima series created by Richard Garriott. Note that I did not include Pagan ( which some call Mario the Avatar) or Ascension (which was released long before it was finished and while it has potential falls short of what I would hope for). I also did not include UO (Ultima Online) because, from what I am told, it quickly became powergamer hell.

A project is underway using the engine of a game called Dungeon Siege to bring the storyline of Ultima V: Warriors of Destiny in line with new technology. And it's going to be beautiful. It's called Ultima V: Lazarus. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished project. My husband owns two versions of Dungeon Siege and we have several versions of the Ultima games. A piece of computer gaming history is being given new life.

The score alone is shaping up to be a magnificent piece of work. http://www.planetdungeonsiege.com/ultima5/tapestry.asp is the page for downloads. I suggest giving a listen to Stones from the music downloads. If you remember Ultima and the various music that went along with it, you'll appreciate this new version.

I took some time for me while the guys were gaming in the garage.

Treated myself to a manicure and pedicure. I figured it was a steal at 28 bucks for both when a salon across town wants 40 for the pedicure alone. I think I like the girls at the mall better, but I looooooooove the massage chair at this place.

Almost had my hair trimmed and colored, but I had to go pick up stuff from the cleaners and got there too late for them to do a walk-in for color.

I stopped at Wally World and got a few things. Was going to get a Chicago CD, but opted for the only copy of the 35th Anniversary Edition of Carpenters Gold.

Brought home pizza for dinner.
yellowrosetx: (Default)
Almost done with Life Expectancy, but took a break off the headphones and am using the tape player for now. The Price of Fear has dramatisations by Vincent Price. I love his voice. Also finished Life's Greatest Lessons: 20 things that matter.

Finished another notebook of patterns, cataloged and scanned. This is good.

Had the gamers in the garage tonight. It's funny to listen to them going on in there.
