Quotes for Today
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by frost.

A strong man doesn't have to be dominant toward a woman. He doesn't match
his strength against a woman weak with love for him. He matches against the
world.

If men can run the world, why can't they stop wearing neckties? How intelligent
is it to start the day by tying a little noose around your neck?

Lyrics of the Day
Love is the road to our destiny
Nothing can change what is meant to be
Forever love
I promise you
Someday we'll be together
Forever love
I won't give up
No matter what
I'll be waiting for you
Forever love

You called me up from Amarillo, said you were coming to town
And thought I'd like to tell you hello, and drive an old friend around
I pulled up to the airport, confident and cool
But when you stepped off that plane, I knew I was your fool
(Chorus)
My Little Texas Tornado, blowing me away again
I swore it wouldn't happen again, but I looked at you and then
I'm like a tumbleweed in a wild west Texas wind
You're blowing me away again

'Cause I'm still dancin' with you
I know we said we were through
But I keep holdin' on
Letting go is just too hard to do
Even when I'm holding someone new
I'm still dancin' with you

Bitch-o-gram of the Day
Simple and straight forward.... "Oh, that man!!"
Ever notice how that phrase uttered with an irritated tone starts many a
bitching session?
We now return you to the regularly scheduled rambling LJ entry for the
day......
Your Daily Horoscope for August 28, 2001.
Dear Cathy,
How impatient you are, Cathy! Once more, you struggle to be in control of
everything in your relationships. You want all ideas and plans to emanate
from you. Unfortunately, the configurations of the day are going to bring
you back to the drawing board. Perhaps it is time to reconsider your approach.
Why not let life take its own course for a change? Set your oars down and
see where the current takes you.
Mmmkay... color me floored and let's just say it's a long story.
Your Daily Horoscope for August 29, 2001.
Dear Cathy,
You may find it hard to latch on to something and stick to it today, Cathy.
Your mind may feel fragmented, and it may be hard for you to focus. If this
is the case, don't worry about it. Perhaps it is just the universe telling
you that it is OK not to focus. Keep things light and carefree. There is
no need to stress about something that only exists in your mind.
Oookkk, that's even stranger...
I had something else in mind for today's entry, but I had a frustrating day yesterday with my daughter, not to mention a clueless bitch in the ACLU and would like to escape reality for a while in a bit.
The twit in the ACLU is named Lauren, I have to wonder when she will bend over grab her ankles and pull until she hears a popping sound. It will be her head being removed from her rectal cavity. She pulls this victim act
on people to make them feel sorry for her and eventually she turns like a
snake to strike at them. When I posted expressing my frustration over some
events of the morning with my daughter, she posted, "Cathy is a crappy mother.
No wonder her daughter hates her." Several of the regular posters, some friends,
some not yet friends jumped up and told her what was what. Most of them have
seen posts like that before and know that my daughter is a difficult person,
not a bad person, just self-centered sometimes. I have to wonder how many
unsuspecting souls she has reeled it with the "I don't have any friends"
routine. Uh.... Lauren has no friends because she's always a total bitch
that gives half-assed meaningless conditional apologies.
Many people use aliases on the net for privacy reasons. Lauren told one of
the nicest people I know that she was a liar for using an alias. I ripped
Lauren a new one that day and ever after have watched her techniques of dealing
with people. Things like... "Oh, yeah, I'd apologize, but what good would
it do?" It's like a guy I know said, "When you are digging a bigger hole
for yourself, put down the shovel." If that's not it, it's close. One day,
Lauren will dig the hole so deep, no one will reach down to pull her out.
It's no wonder Soulless is part of her SN.
On to more pleasant things. I think we all have a fantasy or two rolling
around in our heads. Someone once told me that to write effectively, write
what you know or what you feel. If that's the case, then perhaps this is
fitting:
I was Scheherazade, teller of tales, and you were the Sultan, who hung
on my every word.
I was she, who went off to war on my mount, riding by your
side.
I was the caster of spells, yet, you captured my heart with no such
craft.
I was the one beside you in the cold snows of December and warming
you by the hearth.
I was the dancer that moved to the beating of your heart.
I was she who walked with you in the meadows of heather.
I was she who joined with you beneath the magnolia.
I was she who held you in the dark hours of night until sunrise kissed
our skin.
I was she that banshee called from you.
I am she who awaits the turning of time and seasons to do these things
again.
